Things to come in 2050

I have to assume that I live until 2050, still 22 years to go. I'm going to be really old by then, 72 to be exact. Anyway, these are the things that I predict to happen during the next 22 years.

1. New operating system which could be controlled by mind.

think of a computer that can turn off when you think about it, or which can open documents play music, find file, just by thinking about it. Would be really cool isn't it? I name the OS, Windows Mind 2050.

2. Wireless battery chargers.

I hate to carry them arround. Think about a device that could be charged using radio waves .

3. 1000 GB wireless internet.

I don't know what to transfer, but i hope they will find something by then.

4. Automated Speech translators.

No need to learn languages. Carry the device when you travel, translates any language realtime with VOICE!.

5. Exoskeletons to give ordinary people superhuman strengths.

This was recently tested by the Us Army, hiking will not be a problem at the age of 72.

6. Robots cleaning my house.

Possibly clening everyting.

7. Nano robots that can repair your body parts.

Herat surgery is only one day in the hospital.

8. Portable super computers with unlimited Storage.

Lots of Music & Movies

9. Houses with color changeable walls.

My house is pink in january

10. Cars that can change its skin to any color or design.

Hey, Can you give me your car skin? Where did you download it?

11. harnessing the power of lightning.

One lightning could power a city for months......

12. Biological computers.

????

13. A colony on the moon.

Just to spend my vaccation

14. Life on Mars.

some bacteria I hope

15. Men giving birth to babies

oh.......

16. growing body parts separately to replace damaged ones.

leaders should manage failure by Abdul Kalam

This is a very inspiring interview given by former president of India. Its worth reading, specially for those leaders who blame others on failure. This was the answer given by Abdul Kalam when the interviewer asked him about leadership.

India Knowledge@Wharton: Could you give an example, from your own experience, of how leaders should manage failure?

Kalam: Let me tell you about my experience. In 1973 I became the project director of India's satellite launch vehicle program, commonly called the SLV-3. Our goal was to put India's "Rohini" satellite into orbit by 1980. I was given funds and human resources -- but was told clearly that by 1980 we had to launch the satellite into space. Thousands of people worked together in scientific and technical teams towards that goal.

By 1979 -- I think the month was August -- we thought we were ready. As the project director, I went to the control center for the launch. At four minutes before the satellite launch, the computer began to go through the checklist of items that needed to be checked. One minute later, the computer program put the launch on hold; the display showed that some control components were not in order. My experts -- I had four or five of them with me -- told me not to worry; they had done their calculations and there was enough reserve fuel. So I bypassed the computer, switched to manual mode, and launched the rocket. In the first stage, everything worked fine. In the second stage, a problem developed. Instead of the satellite going into orbit, the whole rocket system plunged into the Bay of Bengal. It was a big failure.

That day, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization, Prof. Satish Dhawan, had called a press conference. The launch was at 7:00 am, and the press conference -- where journalists from around the world were present -- was at 7:45 am at ISRO's satellite launch range in Sriharikota [in Andhra Pradesh in southern India]. Prof. Dhawan, the leader of the organization, conducted the press conference himself. He took responsibility for the failure -- he said that the team had worked very hard, but that it needed more technological support. He assured the media that in another year, the team would definitely succeed. Now, I was the project director, and it was my failure, but instead, he took responsibility for the failure as chairman of the organization.

The next year, in July 1980, we tried again to launch the satellite -- and this time we succeeded. The whole nation was jubilant. Again, there was a press conference. Prof. Dhawan called me aside and told me, "You conduct the press conference today."

I learned a very important lesson that day. When failure occurred, the leader of the organization owned that failure. When success came, he gave it to his team. The best management lesson I have learned did not come to me from reading a book; it came from that experience.

The Cloud Forest

Its been a long time sice I visited horton plains national park, one of the most beautiful places on earth. The forest always looks prehistoric, reminds me of the times when dinosaurs roamed the world.Maybe because of the prehistoric palm trees & dense fog. The whole plain is covered with less than 2 feet's of dark soils rich with minerals formed by continuous bush fires for thousands of years. Its truely amazing. It could have been more amazing if there were elephants . They were poached to extiction 100 years ago but you could still be lucky to see Leopard and Sambhur & wild boar.Endemic Bear Monkey, Rusty- Spotted and Fishing cats, Otter, Black napped hare and Giant Squirrel are among other mammals. Many species of endemic & threatened plants and animals are found in the park. The trees in the forests are continuously in war with each other just to get some light. Its a unique and fragile ecosystem ,some of the plants survive absorbing water only from the misty air. The plain ends suddenly forming a vista called Worlds End,its a place where you can stand above the clouds and let go of yourself. Remember one thing, its not a place that you can visit in a hurry, take your time and enjoy the true nature of a truly unique tropical forest.

Eating Dogs To Become Vegetarians

Can you eat a dog? Ewww... its gross isn't it? Not for sure if you see them skinned out like in the picture. It’s a famous fact that dog flesh is a delicacy in many countries. Some people are outrageous about eating dog flesh. I don’t think that I can make my mind to eat a dog, but some people can. It’s all about what you hear and believe in the society you live in. This is all relative, if you ask a Muslim to eat some pork. He’ll get the same feeling as you do if some one offer you some roasted dog meat. Koreans eat dogs, chines eat cockroaches, Filipino’s eat snakes, and we eat chicken. If Koreans hated chicken they would be talking about us the same way we talk about them for eating dogs. Its all relative. So how about stop blaming each other and start not eating any flesh at all. Every animal deserves to live and they have the same feelings, specially when they are painfully killed. You can start with not eating pork, beef & chicken. Stick with fish for some time, until you feels alright. Then you can even stop that to become fully vegetarian. If you don't want to be labeled as a vegetarian, you can reduce the amount of meat you eat per month. This article has some steps on becoming a vegetarian, so lets give it a try.
