Our Army Need This Weapon

This is a weapon that can give an extra edge over the enemy when it comes to Urban fighting. This weapon can see around the corners, a good feature which might save your face from blowing off. The Corner Shot consists of a segmented, assault rifle-type which could be folded, onto which is attached a pistol of choice and a compact, detachable color video camera. Our army is planing to capture vanni soon(rebel strong hole town), this weapon could be a perfect tool to neutralize the enemy hiding inside structures.

Amos Golan, the inventor, one of Corner Shot's founders and a former Anti-Terror Unit Commander, said: "I believe that the Corner Shot weapon system can be extremely beneficial in the global war on terror. It protects soldiers' lives and increases their chances of survival, while drastically improving their ability to gather information and transmit the combat scenario as well as pinpoint and engage targets out of their line of sight." He added: "Today's combat situations, especially in low intensity conflicts, involve fighting in urban terrain, and inside inhabited buildings, forced entry into airplanes, buses or trains. This unnecessarily exposes security forces to the enemy and presents an immediate risk to their lives. Corner Shot removes the need for this initial exposure."

Also available from Corner Shot, an assault rifle version that takes standard 5.56mm as well as a 40mm "personal" grenade launcher. Best of all, if for the name alone, is the disposable Corner Shot Panzerfaust 60mm, built in collaboration with Dynamit Nobel Defence of Germany.

The problem with the Corner Shot concept is that for it to be effective in conventional urban warfare, every soldier in the unit would have to be armed with one, which doesn't seem practical. It seems to be more of an anti-terror or police weapon than military.

The Corner Shot concept isn't new. In 1945 the Germans issued the Krummlauf Attachment that fitted the StG44 assault rifle so that it could be fired round corners. Basically, it was a curved repplacement barrel.

Until a way can be found to allow regular service rifles to be fired around corners without any loss of standard conventional performance, this sort of concept will remain within the realm of specialist military and police units.

This weapon can see through corners and it can even shoot without actually looking, everybody in the unit doesn't need to have one, even 1 or 2 can do a difference....could be used even inside bunkers to shoot at the enemy, withoutt popping the head

What's the point havving one or two of these weapons in a 10-man section? Since it's 5.56-mm we'll need to purchase the aammo separately. You might as well use hand grenades. Cheaper, and far more effective against bunkers and rooms. The value of this weapon will be in hostage rescue scenarios when grenades or rockets cannot be used.

As I said before, Corner Shot is just a modern version of Krummlauf, which could also see around corners, etc. Krummlauf was originally devoloped for use by armoured vehicle crew against infantry attack, and then later developed for urban warfare. There are advantaages in using these weapons, but not in conventional warfare.

what a good idea, i bet the usual suspects wuold love to buy a few thousand of those and make some hefty 10%s, thus raising our taxes in the process and randomly shooting anything that moves inside rooms....
